With Bluetooth calling built in, calls come to your wrist — handy when your phone is buried in a pack pocket three layers deep.
For wellness awareness and conversations with your physician — not a replacement for a medical device.
The TrekNav tracks your sleep scientifically and shows you each morning whether you’re ready for the next big day out.

A wrist compass is a real instrument with real quirks. Five minutes understanding them is worth more than any spec on the box.
A geomagnetic compass reads the Earth’s magnetic field, so it is thrown off by car bodies, steel structures, ski-lift pylons and phone magnets, and it reads badly when tilted. Flat, clear of ironwork, then trust the bearing. Recalibrate with the figure-of-eight motion after a long journey.
The difference — magnetic declination — changes with location and drifts over years. The NOAA explanation of the wandering magnetic poles covers why. If you are navigating from a paper map, know the local declination before you trust a bearing to the degree.
Barometric altitude is calculated from pressure, which means a stationary watch drifts as the weather changes. Calibrate at a known elevation before you set off and the day’s gain and loss will be reliable. The National Weather Service explains what a falling barometer signals — that drift is itself a forecast. See our altimeter guide.
No phone, no signal, no satellites needed for either the compass or the altimeter. That independence is the whole argument for having them on your wrist rather than relying on a mapping app. Battery still matters though — hiking battery life and cold weather cover the realities.
The National Park Service hiking safety guidance is worth more than any instrument: carry a map you can read, tell someone your route, and be willing to turn back. A compass tells you which way you are pointing, not whether the plan was sensible.

The compass and altimeter do, entirely. A magnetic compass reads the Earth’s field and a barometric altimeter reads air pressure at the watch, so neither needs a phone, a mobile network or a satellite fix. That independence is exactly why they are worth having — they keep working in the valleys and dead zones where a mapping app gives up. Anything involving maps or syncing does need your phone.
Almost always because of nearby metal or tilt. Magnetic compasses are distorted by car bodies, steel railings, machinery and magnets in phone cases, and they read inaccurately when the watch is not held level. Step a few metres clear, hold your wrist flat, and recalibrate with the figure-of-eight motion. Also remember magnetic north differs from true north by an amount that depends on where you are standing.
24/7 heart-rate monitoring and scientific sleep tracking, synced to the free Glory FitPro app. Like all wellness wearables it is not a medical device.
The TrekNav has a built-in real-time compass — open it from the menu for a live bearing, backed by the numbered steel bezel. No phone needed.
