ATM ratings describe static pressure in a laboratory tank, and 5ATM is the point at which surface swimming and showering become reasonable. It does not mean 50 metres of diving — moving through water generates far more pressure than sitting still in it. An IP68 watch and a 5ATM watch are tested differently, and IP ratings say nothing useful about swimming.
